The Reef Check Photography Competition 2008 has been announced and there are several big prizes.

Submissions are open May 1st to June 30th, 2008. The competition categories are:

• People and the Reef
• Creative Visions of the Reef
• The Reef in our hands
• Animal Behaviour
• Icons of the Reef

The Overall Winner will be awarded to the photographer judged to have captured the most clearly communicated and memorable image from all the entries in the five categories. The overall winner will receive:

1. A 6-day, 6-night Osprey Reef Shark Encounter trip for 1 person worth $2215. The lucky winner will go to Osprey Reef and the Great Barrier Reef’s famous ribbon reefs on Undersea Explorer.

NB: This prize is valid between January and May, 2009. Please note the dive trip can only be redeemed in Port Douglas, the winner will be responsible for all costs getting to and from Undersea Explorer’s dock in Port Douglas.
