South African Man Spears Himself

Buffels Bay, South Africa.
In a freak incident a 33yr old man speared himself with his own speargun.
The shaft entered the right side of the chest, shattering the rib, perforating the diaphram, and going on to puncture the right lung and the liver.
The victim recovered swiftly once the shaft was removed by surgeons at the Groote Shuur Hospital. Due to nerve damage he was unable to breathe for himself, but is now expected to make a full recovery.
Exactly why the speargun discharged is not yet known.
