Author Bio: Aharon & MT Solomons
Aharon Solomons has been involved in military, research, commercial and sport diving education for over 35 years. Aharon began serious free-diving in 1992. In 1993 he was invited to train in Cuba with "Pipin", (Francisco Ferreras), the No Limits World Champion. More recently he trained individual members of the British, Israeli and Swedish teams . He has appeared on German and Israeli TV concerning his work in free-diving in the Red Sea, Eilat and has been interviewed on BBC Radio 4 on the subject of breathing and breath-hold. In October 1997 he organised the first deep water course where 6 of his advanced students trained under Pipin in the use of the sled. In October of 1998 he attended the first "Stage" in English with Umberto in Sardinia. Aharon now spends most of the year in Paxos, Greece teaching a variety of courses along with his business and life partner, Maria-Teresa.
Maria-Teresa Solomons, "MT", began free-diving in Crete in October 1996 and continued on to Israel to train further. After only a short period, 5 months, she became one of only a handful of women to have passed the 50m mark in the Fixed Weights discipline. She was one of the IAFD deep-water course participants and was qualified as a Master Instructor Trainer by Pipin in October 1997. She was 6 weeks pregnant at the time ! She then had a year break to have a son, but is back training and teaching with Aharon. She qualified as an APNEA ACADEMY instructor with Umberto in Sardinia in October 1998 and was invited to train with Pipin and Audrey during Audrey's preparation for her "No Limits" world record in May 2000.
