Author Bio: Jeff Ayliffe

Jeff only started freediving fairly late in life, inspite of the cult movie 'The Big Blue' having stirred something many years ago. His passion for the sea grew quickly, and the more he dives, the more he feels the desire to learn about the marine eco-system and all that plays a role in it.

He describes himself as a 'subsistance' spearfisherman, who will shoot a fish to eat, but will never compete.

Jeff has a passion for photography and videography, and has always been fascinated by the Great White Shark, especially since his first 'eyeball to eyeball' contact off Dyer island. His job involves introducing people to the ocean and it's many wonders for a Capetown boat company.
