Author Bio: Abigail Smigel
Abigail is an underwater photographer who lives in San Diego, California. She has also worked as a marine science educator and dive master. Currently, she is a member of an oceanographic research team that has been working around the world for the past year and a half.
Honing her skills as a competitive swimmer at a young age, she has always aspired to be an underwater photographer/cinematographer. In 1992 she made her first official dive in the Turks and Caicos Islands and has been hooked ever since. Abigail studied at St. Mary's College of Maryland where she majored in art and aquatic biology, underwater photography being the marriage of the two seemingly opposite extremes.
Her images have been printed in several publications including Rodale's Scuba Diving and Explorations magazine. Her online portfolio can be viewed at: www.abigailsmigel.com .
