Author Bio: Jennifer Wiley

 

Born in 1981, Jenn grew up in Florida and has enjoyed the water since her first swim lessons at 6 months old. She has a degree in psychology from the University of Florida and is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and a YMCA Silver Instructor. She has also had the privilege of teaching scuba at the dive program at UF.

Currently a graduate student at the University of Florida finishing a master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology, Jenn enjoys research in physical activity and sports. Her research interests include expertise, freediving, performance enhancement, fear of failure, and hyperbaric diving research. She is a 2004 DAN research intern and has been intimately involved in the development of a freediving fatality database.

Jenn’s interests include whitewater rafting, climbing, UF sports, scuba, and more recently, freediving. Eventually, she hopes to figure out what she wants to do when she grows up, until then, you can find her in the water diving with the fish or enjoying her favorite treat, Asian food.
