Author Bio: John Moorcroft

John is one of the founding members of the freediving group training at Dorothea based in North Wales. His freediving achievements include; winning the UK national competition twice, practising constant weight dives in very cold water and spearing lots fish.

He has dived around the coast of North Wales since the age of 9 and admits to being obsessed about being underwater.

He leads a complicated life juggling his job as an ecologist with family life and freediving. He aspires to become very good in all disciplines of freediving (except no limits and static which he believes are pointless) and to do more to promote freediving as a sport that enables people to fully appreciate the beauty of the underwater world.
